Feast at the Lawrenceville Library
Pittsburgh’s Baha’i community gathered at the Lawrenceville Library meeting room Saturday, September 30, to pray, consult and connect.
The big open meeting space in the library’s basement offered something for everyone: Tables and chairs, board games, soft toys and gym mats. The kids loved being able to run and play while the adults consulted nearby about the upcoming Light of Unity festival celebrating Bahá’u’lláh’s 200th birthday.
As part of an effort to make every Feast both fully accessible and welcoming to people in different parts of the city, the community is exploring the use of public spaces like library meeting rooms rather than primarily meeting in members’ homes. This is the second Feast held in a library meeting room.
Baha’i feast is a regular community gathering where participants pray together, share views on community affairs in a spirit of frank and loving consultation, and strengthen the bonds of friendship. The next Feast is October 14 at 1:00 p.m. Please contact Juliet Martinez for details.
