Communities across the nation recognize Race Amity Day each June, a day rooted in the belief that friendship, not prejudice, is the bridge to justice. Inspired by the 1921 Race Amity Convention and embraced by the National Center for Race Amity, this celebration carries forward the timeless value of “E Pluribus Unum”—out of many, one.
In Pittsburgh, we invite you to join us for a community picnic that celebrates our shared humanity and the rich diversity of our city. Through art, music, and open conversation, we aim to build connections that transcend man-made cultural and racial boundaries.
What to Expect:
Art & Music: Collaborative art work that reflects themes of unity and inclusivity.
Collaborative Activities: Chances for dialogue, creative expression, and building new friendships.
Why Attend?
To nurture belonging and mutual respect in our diverse community.
To build connections that can lead to meaningful action for racial amity and justice.
To reinforce that in Pittsburgh—and everywhere—we are, indeed, one human family.
